I also like to “give back” and sometimes I use my writing skills for this purpose, sometimes I don’t. For six months in 2013, I wrote labrador newsletters for Guide Dogs NSW and loved driving all over NSW to meet these gorgeous pooches and their owners.

More recently, I am team leader in Newtown on Friday mornings with a small team washing laundry for the homeless. It’s great work, and we learn that everyone has a story to tell, and that surprising things can happen that lead people to have no roof over their head. website load speed test Regardless, they love their clean clothes after a wash!
And for many years, I penned communications pro bono for Mahboba’s Promise, a not-for-profit organisation run by inspiring Sydneysider Mahboba Rawi, OA, who I met after she was profiled on the ABC’s Australian Story. For her organisation, dedicated to uplifting widows and orphans in war-torn Afghanistan, I have conceived and edited countless newsletters and book publications to keep patrons abreast of the progress being made with donations.
